Grey’s Anatomy and Euphoria star Eric Dane, 52, was recently seen in a wheelchair at Toronto airport, appearing visibly thinner as his battle with ALS continues to progress.

The actor needed assistance from a friend to exit his vehicle before moving into his wheelchair, underscoring the physical toll the neurodegenerative disease has taken on him.

ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurological disorder that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to a gradual loss of muscle control over time.

Dane revealed that he missed the Grey’s Anatomy reunion at the Emmy Awards due to a fall that resulted in a hospital stay and required stitches to his head.

He described ALS as “a cruel illness” and expressed his deep disappointment about being unable to join former castmates like Jesse Williams at the event he had eagerly anticipated.

In June, Dane shared that his ALS diagnosis came after experiencing weakness in his right hand, marking the first symptom that led to medical evaluation and eventual confirmation of the disease.
