Kim Novak Honored With Icon Award in France

Hollywood legend Kim Novak made a rare appearance at the Deauville American Film Festival, where she was honored with the Icon Award on September 6.

Dressed in a white gown with a silvery overlay, Novak accepted the award from dancer-choreographer Benjamin Millepied, captivating fans on the red carpet.

Festival organizers praised Novak for defying female stereotypes in Hollywood and for her raw, instinctive acting style that is now hailed as visionary.

The ceremony was followed by the premiere of Kim Novak’s Vertigo, a documentary by Alexandre O. Philippe exploring her artistic independence.

Known for classics like Vertigo, Picnic, and Bell, Book and Candle, Novak left acting in the late ’60s to pursue her passion for painting.

Days earlier, at the Venice Film Festival, she received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement, calling the honor a "dream fulfilled."
